WHAT WE DID
- Website Design
- Development
- Branding
- Interactivity
Community Care Resources (CCR), est. in 1979, is one of the largest foster care agencies in Wisconsin. Mad Town Designs has established what has become a very strong ongoing relationship with Community Care Resources. We were asked to completely rethink, redesign, and redevelop their online presence.
Diagnosing The Problem
We began with a rigorous problem Diagnostic. We have found that sometimes a clients’ situation or probable solutions can be so complex that we need to better understand the challenges if we are to quantify responsible solutions. The diagnostic is one of the most important parts in this process, ensuring that we build the right strategy early to give the highest quality outcome.
Prescribing The Solution
We place a lot of importance on planning at Mad Town Designs. It is important to agree on the strategy together before any development work begins. By including CCR in this strategic process, we were able to ensure that we had their “buy-in” early and never found ourselves producing deliverables (“creatives”) rooted in ambiguous strategies.
Applying The Design
The user’s behavioral level processing involves the more familiar aspects of usability: it responds to the feel of using the site, the functionality, the understandability of the structure and navigation, and the overall physical performance of the site. Keeping this in mind, every design element we created was there to set a mood and instill trust in CCR.
Our contribution was not limited to design , but also extended into content strategy, as well as the operational and functional strategy of the business. Here, our experience in concept-to-launch-to promotion of online products proved highly effective. By actively working with CCR at each step, we were able to foster and build a shared confidence in all critical choices made regarding the practical operation of the site, the business, and management.
The Results
Because of the nature of this industry tracking conversions right away will not make sense. Getting conversions takes time, but we do have other analytic data to showcase what a smashing success this project was. Average time on the website has now gone from a little over 2 minutes to now reaching 6 minutes. This means the audience is staying engaged, clicking through pages, and reading what Community Care Resources has to say. A great first step for this project.
Re-Apply As Necessary
Our contribution was not limited to design and user experience, but extended into improving current online marketing strategies, as well. In the end, we developed a great Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategy that improves rankings and helps them generate more passionate participants.
