Diagnose
All of our major projects start off with a thorough diagnostic of the business and positioning. For us to be able to deliver a high quality product that meets all of the objectives we must fully understand the vertical that the project will be launched into. It is also a time of discovery for the client as well. It's important for the client to understand our process as it will be used throughout the project to ensure a high quality outcome.
We took the time to not only look at the positioning of Med Pro Imaging, but we also looked into other competitors within the Medical Imaging field that would be considered direct competitors. By doing this we were able to fully understand what works and doesn't work.
Thoroughly planning a project is one of the most important aspects and that is why we start with our diagnostic discoveries. If we skip this step it is likely that some part of the project will go unnoticed and end up costing more time and resources later on.
Prescribe
During the first few sessions we took the time to understand the users that will be using the site, and planned out early scenarios to help create a narrow focus that would help build credibility quickly online. We began creating a baseline of features that the website would be required to meet each user’s needs.
We learned more about the business objectives for the short and long term, and then created a strategy with Med Pro Imaging that not only meets these goals but exceeds them. We presented our findings from our diagnostic discoveries including a low fidelity wireframe to encourage everyone to start thinking about what actions we might want our users to perform.
Apply
This is where our initial strategy came to life and we focused on creating a website design that backed up that strategy. The entire website consists of a minimalist design that is easy to use, intuitive, and great at getting results.
We created a few unique icons to represent each service and allow users easy access to each section. The icons were a unique yet successful approach to this project. Most sites in this field were littered with hard to use navigational goals. The icons made it easy to show exactly what Med Pro focuses on and provided a quick and easy way for the user to reach those areas.
We also built an application that allowed potential visitors to send in their own transducer for repair. The entire probe repair process is now automated online, saving valuable in house resources for Med Pro, while at the same time allowing them to participate in a growing market.
Lastly, and most of this comes down to the bread and butter of the design itself, was focusing on the main calls to action throughout the site. At anytime within the site, it is very easy to convert users resulting in a higher conversion rate.
The Results
The results of our project have turned into a resounding success. Because this project launched in July of 2011 we do not have too much data at this date, but within 24 hours of launch Med Pro received six new contacts or a 1600% conversion increase.
Re-Apply
We continually work with Med Pro to constantly define their online strategy and look for ways for improvement through our Total Managed Support. In addition we are actively working on a search engine optimization strategy to continually improve rankings across the web and increase conversions.
